About

This Autumn the Parent Council have picked Mexico's Day of the Dead Festival as a theme for some of our activities.  This raffle has a wide variety of prizes some of which are in keeping with the Mexican theme, including a meal at one of Edinburgh's most established Mexican restaurants, delicious Tequila, a Mexican cook book and more...  However, if Mexicana isn't your bag there are other prizes in the mix whether you are a coffee lover or just need pampering.

All the proceeds from the raffle will go to supporting Ormiston Primary School.

Batanga Reposado Tequila (70cl, 38%abv)

Batanga, born in the heart of Tequila, is made using 100% blue Weber agave with traditional, old-world methods, that have been used for generations. Our jimadors hand-harvest the agave piñas from the agave fields, which are then cooked in traditional style masonry brick ovens, imparting nuances of cinnamon, clove and other warming spices from the delicate process of caramelizing sugars. The ‘mosto’ released is then fermented and double distilled, giving Batanga the crisp, bright finish that has won the hearts of people near and far.

Black Fire Coffee Tequila Liqueur (70cl, 33%abv)

In Ancient Mexico the Gods sent down a lightning bolt to strike the heart of the agave plant and tequila was born. Black Fire combines three of earth’s most powerful natural highs, tequila, coffee and chilli. Infused, these make the ultimate hit.

Dead Man's Fingers Pineapple Rum (70cl, 37.5% abv)

Unusual tastes delicious. Inspired by our original Spiced Rum from the Rum and Crab Shack in St. Ives, Cornwall, it is a rum crafted with the sweet notes of roasted and candied pineapple. Well balanced with hints of soft brown sugar and nutmeg colliding with a whiff of aniseed and lime zest. Super refreshing, especially with lemonade, lots of ice, a wedge of lime, and a bunch of fresh mint. The new taste of summer.

Dead Man's Fingers Spiced Rum (70cl, 37.5% abv)

Dead Man's Fingers took a spiced rum, looked at what everyone else was doing, then did the opposite. Cornish saffron cake and a suggestion of Pedro Ximénez ice cream - not what you’d usually expect to find in rum.

Dead Man's Fingers is a blend of 2 year old rum and spices created at the Rum & Crab Shack in St. Ives, Cornwall, England. Inspired by local flavours such as Saffron cake, spiced fruit and the Shack's own Pedro Ximénez ice cream. Enjoy it mixed or neat, either way, this is not your usual, this is Cornish Soul.

Sea Glass Necklace

Set of 3 KanKun Hot Sauces

KANKUN Mexican Sauces uses a secret recipe guarded fervently by generations of grandmas, aunties, and mamas from the Cardenas family. They are not only Mexican by name, this is the closest you will get to a home-made, traditional chilli sauce found only at the most authentic of Mexican family gatherings.

Rolando Cardenas, the magical power behind the sauce, learned the art of the perfect chilli mix by sneaking into the kitchen at family dinners and watching, tasting and smelling the age-old recipes that sit at the heart of his family’s tradition.

The steaming hot kitchens were full of stories, gossip and laughter, and little Rolando soaked up the tricks and secrets of the sauces. He then replicated them a thousand times until they were as good as those from his childhood.
