We received a call from one of our supporters - a family member working in a remote location came across a shed – where he found several ponies in filthy conditions, barricaded into their stalls.
A member of the local RSPCA team accessed the site and with additional help from the Regional WHW Officer, the stables were dug out, dismantled and the ponies brought out to freedom.
Miss Parsnip had a matted, faeces encrusted coat but despite this, she was in good body condition.
Her feet however, were badly overgrown and infected and gave cause for concern - it took many weeks of treatment and expert farriery to align the feet and eradicate infection.
Miss P was certainly sassy – at first, she did not understand why she needed to pick her feet up for us, let alone allow us to work on repairing the damage.
We all love Miss P and look forward to finding a forever home, where she can enjoy a long and happy life.
