Giuseppe was found by a member of the public one wintry night, just before Christmas, in December of 2018 and reported to the RSPCA. He was less than 6 months old and had been left alone, tied to a lamp post in a South Cleveland town. It is almost certain that he was abandoned because he was male and surplus to requirements.
We wanted a Christmas themed name and Giuseppe is Italian for Joseph – it suited him perfectly.
Giuseppe was hypothermic, hungry and thirsty on arrival however, he was otherwise healthy and thankfully responded well to expert care and lots of TLC.
He is now very grown-up and settled in a herd of other ponies of similar age – he is in fact the boss of the group.
Giuseppe has always loved attention; he is very bright and full of character – always one of the first to meet you at the gate!
Giuseppe will soon be started under saddle, preparing him to join our Loanie Pony scheme.
We will then be finding him a little jockey to take him on adventures.
