Yusuf started horse riding with Pegasus Riding for the Disabled (RDA) when he was only 8 years old. Immediately he enjoyed the opportunity to ride. Over the years the fabulous volunteer team at Pegasus have encouraged him to overcome any challenges he has faced and have allowed him to develop his riding skills so he can now confidently trot and most importantly have fun! For Yusuf, horse riding is a fantastic activity to help him develop his core strength and confidence.
Yusuf, Junaid and I will be running over the next six weeks to get to 30K.
Pegasus RDA receive no external funding, so they are 100% reliant on grants, donations and fundraising to allow them to continue to provide our life-enhancing activities.
Their biggest outgoings are the upkeep costs of their ponies, Ruby and Tyson, which are around £16,500 a year - They also hire horses to use in their sessions, these horse hire costs are around £5,000 a year.
In addition to the above, they need to fund their core operating costs, amounting to an additional £2,000 each year.
Their little charity is run completely on a voluntary basis - they have no paid staff and 100% of money donated to them is used to fund the essential items .
