Kevin & 3 fellow cyclists have entered this year's Extra Mile Challenge - The Dijon and Beaune Challenge which takes place 23rd-25th September.
Our team of 4 (Anthony, David, Paul & Kevin) will cycle 500 miles in 3 days in the French regions of Dijon & Beaune. Whilst this will be a scenic route through the Burgundy regions' famous vineyards, there will undoubtedly be some hilly terrain as we ride towards the Swiss border and through the Morvan Hills. It promises to be a great challenge, on this my 10th ride with Extra Mile. I will be raising money for the Extra Mile charities & my chosen charity, South Northants Community Responders, an entirely charitably funded organisation.

Community First Responders are highly trained volunteers, under the governance of, and supporting East Midlands Ambulance Service, responding to 999 calls. They are able to complete essential patient assessment and begin treatment ahead of ambulance crew arriving. Once the crew arrive, the professionals will then take charge and transport the patient to hospital if needed.
Community First Responder Schemes ensure that local people are trained in simple and safe techniques that can be used to save lives.
I have recently qualified as a CFR, and share a medical kit with a CFR colleague. A full kit costs in the region of £2,000, and my fund raising will contribute towards the acquisition of another kit.
