Home-Start is a brilliant charity that supports local families with children under the age of five and their siblings. Being a new parent can be very challenging, especially if a family is isolated, or struggling with health or other issues. Home-Start volunteers & groups provide support, friendship and guidance to those in need, making a difference to the lives of their children.
I have been incredibly lucky to have an amazing support system whilst raising my two girls. I know first hand how important it is when you have a young family to have others to lean on. When I heard about Home-Start and what it offers, I had to volunteer my support.
Along with the power of positive support, I know all too well the importance of mental wellbeing. For me exercise has been a lifeline especially after a challenging few years, so I set myself the test to run a half marathon & raise much needed funds for this local charity celebrating its 30th Birthday!
Along with 5 amazing friends I will be running the Bournemouth Half Marathon (13.1miles) on Sunday 8th October 2023.
