WOW....I'm running the London Marathon for ADAPT Prembabies!!!! What an honour!! I'm excited and scared all at the same time. This is my first ever Marathon!!!!!!
I was the face of ADAPT Prembabies for just under 10 years till 2021. During this time I was in the privileged position to meet over 1,000 families on the Neonatal Units at the Leicester hospitals. I witnessed firsthand what a traumatic and vulnerable time all these parents faced. The majority of parents took their babies home and sadly some parents did not.
My role was to provide the emotional support for all the parents whether their baby spent 3 months on the unit or one week. I was there to hold their hand, wipe the tears, provide the hugs and most importantly to listen to them and provide them with the emotional support they needed at this very difficult time.
ADAPT Prembabies is a small local Leicester charity that do not have any government funding or financial support from the NHS. They survive purely on fundraising events and donations.
So I would really appreciate it if you all can help me raise as much as possible for ADAPT Prembabies so they can continue the much needed emotional support for all the parents who will face these difficult times. The mental health for anyone who experiences trauma and sadness in their life’s need support to help them navigate what can be a very vulnerable time. Knowing that I am being supported by you guys for the Marathon will give me the boost I need so that I will try my best not let you guys and more importantly let ADAPT Prembabies down.
So please give what you can and I would like to say thank you in advance for your kind donations. Thank you, thank you, thank you:)
