We urgently need your help to support Qaher Hazrat, a former Paralympic athlete and cyclist who has shown incredible courage and resilience in the face of adversity. Qaher was forced to flee his homeland of Afghanistan after bravely training female cyclists—a decision that put his life in immediate danger. He now seeks asylum in the UK, having lost everything he knew and loved. He left his family, his home, and his life behind, driven by his passion for his sport and his belief in a better future.
However, Qaher is facing a new, critical challenge. His prosthetic legs, which he has relied on for over 20 years, are now splitting due to their age. This makes even basic walking incredibly difficult and painful. While he is safe from immediate danger, his mobility and independence are at risk. Unfortunately, the NHS cannot provide new prosthetics until his refugee status is confirmed—a process currently with the Home Office that could take months or even years, with no clear end in sight.
This is where we need your help. We are raising funds to provide Qaher with new prosthetic legs that will restore his mobility and independence, allowing him to rebuild his life in safety and dignity. With your support, we can ensure that Qaher is not held back by outdated prosthetics that cause him pain every day.
How You Can Help:
Donate: Every contribution, no matter how small, will bring us closer to our goal of providing Qaher with the prosthetics he desperately needs.
Share Qaher's Story: Spread the word by sharing this appeal with your friends, family, and social networks. The more people who know about Qaher’s journey, the more support we can rally.
Raise Awareness: Join us in raising awareness about the challenges faced by asylum seekers like Qaher, who are caught in limbo, unable to access the essential services they need.
Qaher has already shown extraordinary strength and resilience. Let’s come together as a community to give him the support he needs to walk with confidence once more. Your kindness and generosity can make a life-changing difference.
Thank you for standing with Qaher and supporting his journey to freedom, dignity, and mobility.
With gratitude
