As a result of the Russian army’s invasion of Ukraine which began on the 24th February ’22, at least 5 million Ukrainian refugees are predicted to be forced to seek refuge in neighbouring countries.
As a support organisation, Indigo is ideally positioned to place volunteers and support local as well as international grassroots NGOs in their response to this crisis. We have been working with displaced people for the last 6 years and have gained extensive expertise which we will use to deliver vital assistance to refugees at the Ukrainian border.
We are raising funds so that we can:
1. Support our team in carrying out field work at the Ukrainian border, gathering the information they need to coordinate efforts and support grassroots initiatives.
2. Recruit an additional Volunteer Coordinator to help deal with our significantly increased workload.
3. Increase our network reach and onboard new partners in need of our support across the Ukrainian borders.
Founded in 2012, Indigo Volunteers is a UK charity with a global team that matches volunteers from all over the world with charities supporting refugees and displaced people across Europe. Our mission is to ensure that volunteers go where they are really needed, and that the receiving charities have the resources and connections to provide vital assistance to refugees.
