Vehicle Theft – We Need Your Help! 🚐💔
We are devastated to share that Cooking Champions has been the victim of vehicle theft, leaving us without a vital part of our operation and facing the unexpected cost of replacing our van and essential equipment.
The evening before the theft, we had just finished one of our fundraising supper clubs. Unfortunately, our van was still carrying catering equipment used to run our events and raise vital funds for our work. This equipment will also need to be replaced, adding to the financial burden we now face.
Our van is integral to our entire operation. Every week, it enables us to collect hundreds of kilos of food, helping us reduce food waste and get food to the people and families who need it most. Without a suitable vehicle, our ability to collect and distribute this food is severely affected.
The loss of our catering equipment is equally devastating. This equipment is essential not only for running our fundraising events and supper clubs, but also for delivering our weekly cooking lessons and community lunches. These activities bring people together, build cooking skills, tackle food insecurity and help us raise the vital funds needed to continue our work in the community.
While our insurance will cover part of the costs, we are asking for the kindness and generosity of our supporters to help us raise the additional funds needed to replace our van and catering equipment.
This is about so much more than losing a vehicle. Our van and equipment are the backbone of what we do. Without them, our ability to collect and distribute food, run fundraising events, deliver our weekly cooking lessons and provide community lunches is seriously impacted.
