Fundraiser - Care4Calais South Yorkshire

Story

There are approximately 1000 asylum seekers placed in Home Office accommodation across South Yorkshire. During their time here they only receive £8 a week and cannot afford essential items such as clothes, shoes and toiletries, and often remain in the clothes they have arrived in.

Care4Calais volunteers support these asylum seekers by distributing clothes and toiletries, and ensure they have the support they need. However we are urgently in need of more clothes and funds to be able to continue this work. Please donate whatever you can so that we can get them the items they need. Here is what your money can buy:

£20- a warm coat
£10- a pair of trainers
£2- underwear or socks

Care4Calais

Care4Calais is a volunteer-run charity delivering essential aid and support to refugees living in the UK, Northern France, and Belgium. We believe in a fair and tolerant British society and advocate for a welcoming and inclusive attitude towards refugees. Operating year round from Calais, our focus is to provide warm clothing, bedding, food and medical assistance to people in desperate need. We also provide social support and interaction, including language lessons and sports and music workshops. We are on the ground with the refugees every single day and are respectful of their common humanity and responsive to their needs.
