Four members of the IOMFRS are undertaking The 6 Peaks Challenge from Monday 2nd October to Saturday 7th October 2023.
Our aim is to climb each of the 6 highest peaks respectively in the UK and Ireland, whilst hopefully raising some money for two very worthy causes - The Fire Fighters Charity and Isle Listen.
The Fire Fighters Charity provides help and support to all members of the firefighting community (whether serving or retired) as well as their families. They provide a wide range of services, which include physical health, mental health and social well-being.
Isle Listen is an early intervention positive mental health initiative, which aims to highlight the importance of mental health and its equal importance to physical health. Isle Listen provides a range of vital mental health services and training in schools, the workplace and the wider community.
Across 6 days, team members will look to successfully summit Scafell Pike (England - 978m), Ben Nevis (Scotland - 1,345m), Slieve Donard (Northern Ireland - 850m), Carauntoohil (Ireland 1,038m), Snowdon (Wales - 1,085m) and Snaefell (Isle of Man 621m).
The team has self-funded all expenses for the trip, therefore every penny donated will go directly to the charities and all donations will be split equally between The Fire Fighters Charity and Isle Listen.
Thank you for reading about our adventure! All donations received, no matter the size, are most gratefully received!
