About

The BIGKID Cook Off is back! Hosted by world-renowned, two Michelin-starred chef, Michel Roux Jr at Livelyhood Pub Group's fabulous Perky Nel in Clapham South on Thursday 26th October, we are offering you the chance to treat your taste buds to a delicious 3-course meal prepared and served by teams of our young people. Channel your inner food critique by judging which team whips up the tastiest fare!

This year marks our 15th anniversary. Over 15 years we have grown from working with 15 to over 2,500 young people annually. This is in response to ever increasing challenges being faced by our young people. We have continually adapted and responded to these challenges, always maintaining our focus on creating a safe space for young people, building relationships and trust, ensuring a sense of belonging.

Join us at this year’s 15th anniversary Cook Off as we celebrate our journey and look forward to the years ahead.

Funds raised through tickets sales, as well as a raffle and auction on the night, will directly support our football programme. A core element of our approach to community engagement since day 1, we run regular weekly sessions for both boys and girls across multiple school and community sites every week. During the next year we want to grow this further with sessions at more locations, also introducing more futsal – a fast-paced indoor game where young people can really test their skills.

We look forward to seeing you at the Perky Nel, it promises to be a wonderful evening!

Supporting

BIGKID Foundation

BIGKID Foundation is a multi-award-winning youth and community charity established in 2008; our mission is to end youth violence. We work with over 2,500 young people annually and are experts in youth engagement. We equip young people to take control of their lives, find, develop and act on their own potential. We do this through three core programmes:

Community engagement - sports sessions including football, American flag football, tennis, boxing, basketball and tennis; youth club, creative arts social action, trips and residentials.

Mentoring - both peer mentoring and with adult mentors.

Breaking Barriers - our in-school leadership programme for young people at risk of exclusion, or otherwise vulnerable due to concerns around mental health or well-being.
