About

Throughout their time at AJS, children have the opportunity to take part in extracurricular activities, ranging from clubs to day trips, to residentials. Parents are asked to contribute towards the cost of these, but when they are unable to, the school tries to covers the cost itself.

With the current cost of living crisis, we know things have got a bit harder for all, and a lot harder for some. That is why the AJS Parents, Teachers and Friends Association has set up this dedicated fund which will be used solely to help the school continue to support those most in need.

We are calling this the TLC fund, after the school’s central values: Thinking, Learning and Caring, as our care for one another can help all children get the most out of their time at AJS.

Donations to this fund will be kept separate from the regular funds the PTFA raises through activities such as fairs, on which the school relies to fund essential projects and equipment. The TLC fund is an additional appeal brought about by the extra hardship many are facing.

Please note that the PTFA will NEVER be told who requests or receives help from the fund. Such requests should continue to be directed to the school, which will decide how to allocate the funds. If you require help with the costs of extracurricular activities, please get in touch with Mrs Maragh or Mr Goulds, to talk in strict confidence.

If you can, please donate to the fund here and fill out the brief Gift Aid details if you are a UK tax payer. Doing so means the government will add a further 25p for every £1 you donate, making your donation or direct debit go further. Names of donors will not be published online, nor will they ever be shared with the school. All contributions are welcome, large or small. If you would like more information, please contact the PTFA direct at hello@ajsptfa.org.uk

Updates

The TLC fund has got off to a great start since our soft launch at the end of the February half term!

We are now setting the fund a £1,000 target for this year. Let's see how quickly we can get there! Every penny will be used to help the school subsidise - or cover in full - the cost of extra curricular activities for families who are unable to pay themselves. Thank you for your support.
