What the world cannot see, the world struggles to recognize and understand.
80% of all disabilities have no visual indicators.
1 in 100 children in the UK are thought to have Autism Spectrum Condition and 2 children in every classroom care for a sibling.
Yet the world does not see them.
Empathy for special children is a lifeline for children, young people and their families living with the impact of a hidden disability in a world that does not yet understand the possibilities of Neurodiversity. Often described as "Our Empathy family" our projects offer not the opportunity and support to ensure that every child has an equal opportunity at the fun and full-filled childhood but also the support and understanding to be themselves and be proud, a place to belong, a place of safety, a place to be successful to find fun, friendship and laughter.
Our work does not only deliver activities but also Enables the community with the support they need and Empowers them with the confidence, resource and skills they need to be successful lifelong so that all can live their best lives safe in the knowledge that ......different is not wrong, it is just different.
This work is now under threat, having survived and worked tireless throughout the pandemic, the charity is now facing a funding deficit and desperately needs your support to survive. We are so close to realizing our dream of our first community inclusion hub but first we must protect the vital work we do across Shropshire and keep the current projects alive for families in your local area.
With your support we can continue to change lives.
