About Us

We believe that young people should have the opportunity to develop a life-long love of sport and experience all the benefits this brings.

Sporting Start exists to enable young people in Edinburgh and the Lothians to experience and enjoy sport.

We help individuals and groups who face financial or other barriers which limit their opportunity to access and participate in sport. We aim to provide funding support to help with for example, coaching, courses, events, facilities and sports equipment.
