Please donate here to help secure the pioneering South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project’s long-term future and put plans in place to reintroduce golden eagles to other areas of the UK where golden eagles are currently extinct. We can only do this with your support.
Together with our current partners (including the Southern Uplands Partnership), we have developed plans to harness our unprecedented success to address the nature-climate crisis facing the UK. We have already successfully restored a previously low population of golden eagles in the south of Scotland to record numbers and have submitted an application to become a new standalone charity, Restoring Upland Nature (RUN), which will allow us to extend beyond the south of Scotland, working in collaboration with other charities, organisations and communities across the UK who share the same vision and values as us. However, as our current funding runs out at the end of this year, we face the imminent threat of needing to wind the Project down unless enough funds are raised.
We are incredibly grateful to all our partners and supporters, past and present, and everyone who has, and can continue to support our vital work to restore golden eagles to the areas they once thrived. Every donation will play a key part in reversing the UK’s biodiversity decline and ensuring current and future generations across the UK can experience that incredible sense of excitement - and hope – of seeing golden eagles soar in southern skies.
Our target of £400k would cover all of RUN’s operating costs for a year, including staff salaries, vehicles, maintenance of specialist equipment (including satellite tags), community engagement and education resources.
Please note: all donations made via the main Southern Uplands Partnership's donations page which were made since the fundraiser began or which state they should be ringfenced for the South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project will be donated to our project.”
With thanks to SUP for hosting this fundraiser.
