Running a free service costs a lot of money!!
Queer Youth Art Collective (QYAC) is the UK’s only national LGBT youth service working specifically in the arts. We provide a safe place for young LGBT people (18-28) to breathe a little easier, share experiences, advice, resources and creativity.
QYAC is a free queer art school. We are instilling in the next generation of LGBT artists the values of collaboration, accessibility in the arts and the importance of educating those who come after.
QYAC hosts free weekly workshops, run by queer artists. We co-curate exhibitions, offer mentoring, social space and resources. We are based out of Queer Circle in Greenwich London. All workshops can also be attended on Zoom.

Our Community:
The majority of people who attend QYAC sessions (over 60%) identify as trans and/or non binary. Stonewall’s 2018 Trans Report found, more than a third of trans university students (36%) in higher education have experienced negative comments or behaviour from staff in the last year.
In this current climate of increased hostility towards trans young people, providing a free, supportive education and community setting that can be accessed remotely has been a lifeline for individuals in London, and for trans young people throughout the UK.
Whilst we are not a therapeutic service, we do have a substantial safeguarding focus, providing 1:1 welfare check-ins and signposting for at-risk individuals, including those experiencing homophobia at home, navigating the asylum service as an LGBT person, and at risk of suicide.
Our Aims:
1) Providing a free and viable arts education for LGBT young people 18-28
2) Building a national network of connected artists, organisers and educators around LGBT youth arts programming
3) Advocating for a more sustainable arts sector that pays fair and livable fees to young artists
