“Power for Ukraine” is a fund raising campaign organised by the Ukraine Support Group of Banchory West Church in the northeast of Scotland.
The one factor that can make the difference between life and death is the availability of electric power. Without it, it is difficult to provide hot food and warmth, especially to vulnerable adults and children being cared for in homes.
With the help of Ukrainians in the capital, we have identified six institutions in the Kyiv region, which urgently need generators to provide electricity.
We have set ourselves an initial target of £45,000 to purchase diesel generators of varying sizes to enable these organisations to continue to provide a service to those who depend on them.
We do not have to wait until the full target sum is reached: generators will be purchased locally, as soon as sufficient funds become available.
