In June 2022 I am cycling up the two highest tarmaced roads in Britain and covering over 150 miles in one day in aid of Mossburn Community Farm - please sponsor me and support this great cause!
Mossburn Community Farm provides sanctuary for animals in need, whether they have been neglected, abandoned or their owners can no longer care for them. They give loving care to around 100 animals at any time, in the beautiful Dumfries countryside. Their team of staff and dedicated volunteers ensure that the well-being of their animals is of the highest importance at all times. Mossburn also provides animal assisted therapy which gives a wide range of people many benefits, including helping with anxiety, giving comfort, reducing loneliness and increasing mental stimulation. Learn more about their work and meet some of the animals at www.mossburn.org
Sometimes individual animals need a little bit of extra care and funds are needed right now to support Mitzee the pony who suffers from equine asthma and Cushings disease. Mitzee is much loved and receives various daily medications via a nebuliser multiple times a day. However, staff are concerned as her breathing has deteriorated significantly over the past couple of months and balancing the conflicting treatment and management options for the asthma and the Cushings is proving problematic. Many veterinary treatment have been tried and options have almost been exhausted, without the improvement needed to ensure Mitzee has a good quality of life. Mossburn needs help to fund new fencing and a shelter, as well as a hay steamer, to make managing Mitzee’s conditions easier and more effective. However, on top of ongoing high vet bills, these management changes don’t come cheap!
Please help support a wonderful place doing wonderful things.
