Menstruation Matters UK is a not-for-profit humanitarian project aiming to make periods a little lighter, because #MenstruationMatters. We supply sanitary products to those in our local community (Sheffield, UK) who would otherwise not be able to afford them. Our mission started to address period poverty amongst the BAMER (Black, Asian, mixed, ethnic minority and refuge) communities fleeing domestic or sexual abuse such as forced marriage, FGM, honour-based violence and sex trafficking. But since 2019, we have extended our support to all menstruators, including young adults and food banks.
Your monetary donation will help us provide menstrual pads, tampons, pantyliners, menstrual cups and reusable pads to local organisations within South Yorkshire. These menstrual products are divided up into Care Packages, which contain enough products to last one period. We provide Pads only, Tampons only, or Mixed packages covering a range of flows.
Reducing plastic waste is a high priority for Menstruation Matters and so brands such as Here We Flo allow us to purchase sustainable single-use products for our Care Packages.
