We as a collective met at Harcombe house. Never had we met. From many backgrounds within the services, with differing forms of issues causing stress on our day to day lives. Whether office based staff supporting frontline or operational frontline we all believed that we have to fight these demons alone. Through out a mindful and informative week at Harcombe house not only did we learn the skills to cope and deal with the current stresses of life, but best of all made some amazing friends to help us through.
As a group of 9 colleagues we travelled 1957 miles to reach Harcombe house and in the next 3 months as a team we will walk, swim, run or cycle that same distance by raising some funds to enable others to have the opportunity to grow.
We are grateful for our experience. Now it’s our turn to help others.
Mental health issues are not to be hidden. The more open about it the easier they can be deal with.
It’s OK not to be OK.
