At the Mary Ward Centre, we are dedicated to providing accessible education for individuals from all backgrounds. Our mission is to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn and grow, regardless of their financial situation. We offer courses at concessionary fees for those with low incomes, refugees, and asylum seekers, making education attainable for all. Additionally, we provide free English and job skills courses to empower individuals to improve their lives and contribute to their communities.

Our commitment extends beyond the classroom. We actively engage in community service and collaborate with local organisations to enhance educational opportunities and support the needs of our diverse community.

Mary Ward

We are passionate about the idea that we can keep on learning throughout our lives and specialise in courses for adults from 19 to 90. We have been doing this for over 100 years and are one of London’s Specialist Institutes for Adult Learning. Courses run in the daytime, evening or weekend, meaning you can fit your learning around the rest of your life.

The Mary Ward has a reputation as ‘the friendly place to learn’ – this is because as well as getting first-rate teaching, we also offer the support and encouragement you need to help you get the most from your course. Our groups are characterised by mutual respect and the understanding that as adults we will all learn from each other. Lots of folk tell us that they really value the extra umph that learning in a group gives them being on the journey together adds camaraderie, mutual support and oftentimes friendship and fun.
