We are a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery and Monastic school.
Our ancient monastery is in Upper Mustang, Nepal. It’s a famous but poor Monastery.
Then we have the monastic school down in Pokhara. Winter is too cold for our kids in Mustang. No heating and -25 C (-13 F) during the night time!
We were living happily when the new Pokhara International Airport was built on the doorstep of the school. Literally. We counted the steps between our outer wall and the airport fence and they are 50 steps.
When the airport will work it will be a disaster.
When they try the loudspeakers, we stop talking because we no longer hear anything but the communications at the airport. Imagine the noise of an aircraft landing or taking off. And the pollution. And the vibrations.
Our diet is also very poor, so would be fantastic to have some vegetables garden and a little orchard. Veggies and fruit are very expensive in Nepal.
The solution is: we have to move in the countryside.
The big problem is: land in Nepal is VERY expensive.
Our needs
We are on the slopes of the Himalayas. The costs of the buildings depend on how steep the land we will find will be. If we will have to make an access road ourselves and so on.
The buildings will have to accommodate 80 people, including monks, children, and teachers. With enough bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, decent classrooms, infirmary, storage (it would be better to have two, one for food and one for other things like bedsheets) and an office-meetings room.
Let's say that the minimum rough budget is around € 270,000.
Considering the average price of the land and risking a hypothesis on the construction, the relocation of the monastic school to the countryside requires the funding of
6100 square meters x 48 € = € 292.800
non-bio buildings about € 270,000
SO WE NEED TO COLLECT:
550.600 €
We will need a lot of help from you, our friends, to raise enough money to go farm!
So, please, old and new friends of SunCave Monastery and monastic school, join us in this incredible adventure: creating the first Tibetan Monastery completely self-sustainable and environmentally friendly!
Give as per your wish!
